The Inca’s considered the quinoa as “the grain of the Gods” and it has been grown in the Andes for approx. 7,000 years. It is originally from the surroundings of Lake Titicaca (Puno). Just like potato, quinoa was not only the basis of Inca’s diet, it also had a divine meaning in their culture. In the 21st century, quinoa is being recognized as the most exquisite grain in the world due to its high nutritional value and its versatility in the cuisine.
